James R. Morris is a Lake Charles native. He graduated from LaGrange Senior High School in 1972 and earned his Bachelor of Arts from Centenary College in 1976. James earned his J.D. from LSU Law School in 1979.
James is a member of the Louisiana Bar Association and has been practicing law for 40 years. His emphasis has always been litigation, primarily handling bodily injury and workers’ compensation cases. During much of his legal practice, he served as an insurance defense attorney. He later moved into Plaintiff litigation and, in addition to personal injury and workers’ compensation, his areas of practice include premises liability, medical malpractice, divorce and child custody, wills and succession, and employment and discrimination law.
James is Of Counsel at Sudduth & Associates, LLC and is currently handling quite a few cases in employment, ERISA, and discrimination law. With his diverse background, extensive knowledge of the law, and drive, he has been instrumental in delivering superior representation to those in need of legal services.
When he is not practicing law, James spends his time with his wife, two children, and four grandchildren.
